திருவல்லிக்கேணி பார்த்தசாரதி கோயிலில்  ஏழு நாட்கள் விமர்சையாக திருப்பவித்ரோத்சவம் நடைபெறுகிறது..  பல்வேறு உத்சவங்களில் ஆவணி மாதம் நிகழும் பவித்ரோத்சவம் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தது. பவித்ரம் என்ற சொல்லுக்கு 'சுத்தம் அதாவது பரிபூரணமான அப்பழுக்கு இல்லாத ஒன்று' என்று பொருள் கொள்ளலாம்.  இந்த திருப்பவித்ரோத்சவத்தில் திருக்கோவிலில் யாக சாலை அமைத்து ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள் உத்சவர் திருமுன்பு திருக்கோவில் பட்டாச்சார்யர்களால் யாக யக்னங்களும்,  அத்யாபகர்களால்  திவ்யப்ரபந்த திருவாய்மொழி  சேவை சாற்றுமுறையும் நடைபெறுகிறது. ஏழு நாட்களும் திருவீதி புறப்பாடும் நடக்கிறது. கோவிலில் எல்லா எம்பெருமானுக்கும் பட்டு நூலிலான பல வண்ணங்கள் உடைய திருப்பவித்ரமாலை சாற்றப்படுகிறது.

நடத்துவதில் சிக்கல்: பக்தர்கள் அதிர்ச்சி

 

சென்னை: திருவல்லிக்கேணி பார்த்தசாரதி கோயிலில் பவித்ர உற்சவம் நடத்துவதில் சிக்கல் ஏற்பட்டு இருப்பது பக்தர்கள் மத்தியில் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. 108 வைணவ தலங்களில் ஒன்றான திருவல்லிக்கேணி பார்த்தசாரதி கோயிலில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பவித்ர உற்சவம் நடைபெறுவது வழக்கம். இந்தாண்டு பவித்ர உற்சவம் வரும் ஆகஸ்ட் 27ம் தேதி நடக்கிறது. 7 நாட்கள் நடக்கும் இந்த உற்சவத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு நாட்களும் சிறப்பு பூஜைகள் மற்றும் யாகங்கள் நடைபெறும். இந்த நிலையில் நடப்பாண்டில் பவித்ர உற்சவத்துக்கு தேவையான ஏற்பாடுகளை செய்வதில் சிக்கல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. 

இதுகுறித்து அறநிலையத்துறை அதிகாரி ஒருவர் கூறுகையில், ‘‘திருவல்லிக்கேணி பார்த்த சாரதி கோயிலில் கடந்த 2016ல் உதவி ஆணையராக ஜோதிலட்சுமி நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார். அவர் கடந்த 4 ஆண்டுகளாக இந்த பதவியில் இருந்த நிலையில் அவர் மீது ஏராளமான குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் எழுந்ததால், திடீரென பணியிடமாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டார். அவர் உதவி ஆணையர் பொறுப்பில் இருந்து செல்லும் போது, கோயில் நகைகள், சொத்துக்கள் மற்றும் உண்டியல் பணம் தொடர்பாக ஆய்வு செய்து ஒப்படைக்க வேண்டும். அதன்பிறகே அந்த பொறுப்பில் இருந்து சென்று இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், அவர் நகைகள் தொடர்பான ஆவணங்களை மட்டும் புதிதாக பொறுப்பேற்ற அதிகாரியிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார். ஆனால், நகைகள் அந்த ஆவணங்களில் உள்ளது போன்று இருக்கிறதா என்பது தொடர்பாக ஆய்வு செய்யவில்லை. இதனால், புதிதாக பொறுப்பேற்ற அதிகாரி நகை பெட்டக அறை திறக்கவில்லை. 

இந்நிலையில், பவித்ர உற்சவம் 27ம் தேதி நடைபெறவுள்ள நிலையில், 108 வெள்ளி கலசம் மற்றும் சுவாமி அலங்காரம் செய்ய நகைகள் அனைத்தையும், நகை பாதுகாப்பு பெட்டக அறையை திறந்து எடுத்து தர வேண்டும். ஆனால், பழைய உதவி ஆணையர் ஆய்வு செய்து ஒப்படைக்காத நிலையில், கோயிலில் நகைகள் காணாமல் போய் இருந்தால் சிக்கலில் மாட்டிக்கொள்வோம் என்கிற பயத்தில் புதிதாக பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ள அதிகாரி நகை பெட்டகத்தை திறக்க மறுத்து விட்டார்.

இந்த நிலையில் உதவி ஆணையராக இருந்த ஜோதி லட்சுமி முன்னிலையில் நகை பெட்டக அறையை திறப்பது தொடர்பாக கோயில் நிர்வாகம் சார்பில் கடிதம் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆனால், அவர் வர மறுத்து விட்டதாக தெரிகிறது.  இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார். இதன்காரணமாக பவித்ர உற்சவம் நடைபெறுமா என்ற கேள்வி பக்தர்கள் மத்தியில் எழுந்துள்ளது.

Temple Car is not Thiruther ~ but the car used by HRCE officials !!!!!

Only the Devout who regularly visits the temple  know the anguish…. It is not unique to any village temple… the malady affects almost all temples – more so, when thousands of devotees come to the temple …. More so when they contribute lakhs and crores of rupees in the Temple hundis.  WE have nobody else to blame than ourselves having allowed the Govt to manage the Temples.

For a Hindu, devotion and worship is way of life… their life revolves round the Temples ~ more around those great temples of which Alwars and Nayanmars have sung hymns… doing service at the temple, and donating their property were all for propitiation ~ and many rich people donated part of their wealth, their lands and more for Temples – constructing them and maintaining them…. People who died without progeny used to donate their property to temple – as when the temple flourished – all the neighbourhood prospered…. ‘people lived happily in places where culture and religion co-existed’…..

All tales of the past…. Now there are some temples where even daily rituals are not properly conducted… not all of them are in villages, neither – all of them not having property …. They have huge estates – only the administrators are not properly managing to derive revenue out of them.  We have HR&CE which will take over temples when revenue exceeds a set limit [the same rule does not apply to religious institutions of others !!!!] – and with the temple money – they will conduct political functions – in memory of leaders who preached atheism … why at a temple premises …. If feeding the poor is the aim – do it in the name of God – why in the name of political persons ?  have we questioned  this ??

Sadly here is a Temple  in ruins and in a most dilapidated state. A name board proclaims that Department of Archaelogy which protects 85 monuments spread all over the state is taking care ! of this temple.   It is quite unfortunate that places which had pristine glory have lost their veritable importance, are in dilapidated condition needing conservation.  It really pains to see the temple lying shattered in ruins.

Sadly, the temple precincts are poorly maintained – hygiene is not at all cared ….   in some places, the annual festivities do not take place …

In the famous Triplicane Sri Parthaswami Thirukkovil, there was this building in South Tank Square street, built for the purpose of keeping the magnificent ‘Kannadi pallakku’ – ask anybody who is over 50 there – he would have witnessed that beautiful kannadi pallakku – present condition : the one went fading due to poor maintenance but the place was converted as car park for keeping the new car of the Executive Officer of the Temple ! ~ none resisted or fighted !!!!!!!!

HR & CE and its boss Tamil Nadu Government have regularly been looting Hindu Temples of their monies for non-temple, non-Hindu purposes. Three detailed Writ Petitions have been filed by  Mr TR Ramesh as President of Indic Collective Trust and in my individual capacity questioning the transfer of funds and for reparation funds already. Sai Deepak Iyer J is to be thanked in a big way for his phenomenal efforts in creating awareness of such looting and mismanagement of Hindu Temples & endowments across the nation and for his involved efforts in arguing the core matter for the benefit of Hindus before High Courts and Supreme Court.

Litigant trust claims that even fuel expenses are met by the temples

A public interest litigation petition has been filed in the Madras High Court accusing the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Minister as well as the Commissioner of using cars purchased from the funds of the Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore and the Kamakshiamman temple at Mangadu respectively.

Justices M.M. Sundresh and R. Hemalatha have ordered notices to the State government as well as the HR&CE Commissioner on the PIL petition filed by the Indic Collective Trust, represented by its president T.R. Ramesh. The petitioner’s counsel Niranjan Rajagopalan said temple money was being used even for fuel expenses.  The judges directed the Registry to list the case along with another PIL petition filed by Rangarajan Narasimhan of Srirangam against a Government Order to collect Rs.10 crore of surplus funds from 20 rich temples and use it to renovate 10,000 village temples. In that case, the court had passed an interim order restraining any such expenditure.

In an affidavit filed in support of his case, Mr. Ramesh said a combined reading of Articles 25,26, 27 of the Constitution would make it clear that the State could not appropriate funds belonging to temples and other religious institutions. Hence, the trust had challenged the validity of many provisions of the HR&CE Act before the Supreme Court. Even as those cases were pending in the apex court, the HR&CE Department had been continuing to transfer temple funds without following the provisions of its own Act, the trust alleged. It claimed that funds were being diverted at the ipse dixit of the department though the law prescribes elaborate procedures such as calling for public objections.

Further stating that the HR&CE had failed to appoint trustees for around 19,000 temples in the State since 2011, the litigant trust said they were being managed by the department employees appointed as fit Persons. It insisted that the funds of such temples should be used for their essential maintenance purposes alone and not transferred at all. Mr. Rajagopalan also told the court that temple funds had been used for purchasing computers for HR&CE officials and painting their offices. He said now there was also a proposal by the State government to start a television channel using temple funds and that the trust would want to reserve its right to challenge the decision at an appropriate time.

Sad, sordid tale .. .. officials think they are bigger than God – the Executive Officer at the holy Srirangam Ranganatha Perumal koil audaciously has his official car driven on the sands of ulprakaram to reach Office – devotees rever these places with devotion as these were the places were Azhwars and Acaryas had treaded .. ..

When the thiruther of a temple has some defects, it takes years and lots of money from various Devotees to get renovated ~ HR&CE Dept never places the money collected from the same temple in repairing it – b u t, luxury cars are bought for use of Officers.

தரையில் பாலை கொட்டி போராட்டம்  ~  felt sad on reading this.  Triplicane is a land of Sri Parthasarathi – different people have co-existed for ages.

In the last decade or so - the bovine menace in the streets of Triplicane has become unbearable, believe me, even for one who lived in the congested Nagoji Rao street nearer Samarao school for a short while.  Stray cattle, sometimes aggressive have threatened and harmed people, especially old aged.  Children are afraid of walking alone, hurriedly cross the roads in the fear of these animals. 

The Triplicane we knew of 1960, 70s, 80s was different – there were koshalas, cowhered and hundreds of cattle .. .. at Nagoji, opp to Kellet High School, there was this person at Sengalvarayan who had breeding bulls, at near NKT girls high school, at Venkatrangam lanes, Arimuthu lanes and more more places.  One could get fresh ‘cow milk or think buffalo milk’ of choice ! – the maadu would be walked along, tied before the house, pathiram shown to customer showing that it had no water, milk the cow and handover fresh milk – people bought buffalo milk too.  Jokes would be found in magazines on how so much of water gets added to milk.   There were black solid big buffaloes – reportedly Delhi murrah ones  –  capable of providing litres of milk more.   

Mid 1970s changed lives -  Aavin made a big entry taking away the share – people started lining up before Aavin booths – the bottles and later day milk sachets, became the staple source. Understand that aavin too is staggering with its competitors.   

There was a time when people were too loyal and would buy milk only from specified owner – what has happened – when did the gap became unbridgeable – are their individuals who buy milk from the local cattle owners – if not, how this happened ? – what pushed them away ? – was it the cost ? – was it the vagary of supply – or friendliness lost ? – cattleonwers should have pondered these – whatsoever it could be wasting milk by draining it could be symbolic but serves no purpose – none at all !!

-      and is there something the local residents could do – some effort to support these cowherds – can they start some little quantity at least

-      perhaps some may come forward, if the cattle-owners stop injecting their herds with hormonal injections on the street and stop producing chemical milk

-      none would like to keep the cows and buffalo away from our normal daily lives

-      only little effort of conciliation, compassion and friendliness required is what I believe.

-      Can there be newer efforts in storing, packing, delivering

-      Would people prefer fresh ones rather than pasteurised milk

-      Do people know that what they buy from aavin is neither ‘cow milk’ – nor ‘buffalo milk’ but admixture

-      It is homogenised too - Homogenization is the process of breaking down the fat molecules in milk so that they stay integrated rather than separating as cream. Homogenization is a purely physical process; nothing is added to the milk.

Bigger stronger Social service Organisations and caste associations of Triplicane including that of Yadava Sabha may have a role .. .. not many would know that the big Organisation housed opp to Hindu Sr Sec School – famously known as TUCS is more than a century old and was the frist consumer coop society.  Can it venture into milk vending organising these cattle owners or someone organises these people to form their own coop society – something needs to be done !

டீக்கடைகள், ஓட்டல்கள் மூடப்பட்டதால் வாழ்வாதாரம் போனதாக கூறி சென்னையில் பால் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் தரையில் பாலைக் கொட்டி நூதன போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

போராட்டம் : கொரோனா தொற்று தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கையாக தமிழகத்தில் 144 தடை உத்தரவு போடப்பட்டுள்ளது. காய்கறி, பழங்கள் போன்ற அத்தியாவசிய பொருட்கள் விற்பனை செய்யும் கடைகள், மருந்தகங்கள், ஆஸ்பத்திரிகள், பெட்ரோல் பங்குகள் தவிர அனைத்து கடைகளும் மூடப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்தநிலையில் டீக்கடைகள், ஓட்டல்கள் மூடப்பட்டதால் தங்கள் வாழ்வாதாரம் பறிபோனதாக கூறி நூதன போராட்டத்தில் பால் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் நேற்று ஈடுபட்டனர்.

வாழ்வாதாரம் பாதிப்பு : சென்னை திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் உள்ள மாட்டுத் தொழுவத்தில் நேற்று சுமார் 300 லிட்டர் அளவு பசும் பாலை தரையில் கொட்டி பால் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் தங்கள் எதிர்ப்பை அரசுக்கு தெரிவித்தனர்.

இதுகுறித்து பால் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் கூறியதாவது:-  சென்னையில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பால் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் உள்ளார்கள். தினமும் பசு மாடுகளில் இருந்து பெறப்படும் பாலை ஓட்டல்கள், டீக்கடைகளுக்கு வினியோகம் செய்து வருகிறார்கள். இந்த நிலையில் கடைகள் மூடப்பட்டதால் எங்களது வாழ்வாதாரம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பொதுமக்களும் பயம் காரணமாக எங்களிடம் பாலை பெற யோசிக்கிறார்கள். இதனால் எங்களிடம் உள்ள பாலை என்ன செய்வதென்றே தெரியவில்லை. மாடுகளுக்கு தீவனம் வாங்குவதற்கு கூட வழியில்லாமல் தவிக்கிறோம். எனவேதான் பாலை தரையில் கொட்டி போராடுகிறோம்.

அரசு உதவ வேண்டும் :  எங்களின் நிலைமையை உணர்ந்து ஆவின் மற்றும் கூட்டுறவு சங்கங்கள் மூலம் எங்களிடமிருந்து பசும் பாலை கொள்முதல் செய்ய அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும். அரசின் உதவியை எதிர்பார்த்து காத்திருக்கிறோம். வருமானம் இன்றி தவிக்கும் எங்களுக்கு அரசுதான் உதவ வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் கூறினர்.

Vinayaka Chathurthi would be grandly celebrated in Tamilnadu as also in the rest of the country with gay and gaiety.  Lord Ganesha is widely worshipped as the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travel.

On Vinayaka Chathurthi eve, evening a bunch of sprightly youngsters organised a grand procession taking big Vinayaka statues to be installed for Pooja at Ponnappa Mudali Street…………

Arulmigu Ellai Amman Temple  ‘Aadi Uthsavam’ @ Triplicane

Thiruvallikkeni aka Triplicane is a place of Temples – many of them puranic having existed for centuries…..

Somewhat closer to Sri Azhagiyasingar sannathi – via Ganapathi Mudali Street,  Chengalvarayan Street, you reach this temple at Sundaramurthy Vinayakar Street  – a common name in Tamilnadu ‘Ellaiamman” – the God protecting the frontiers of a place… each village, each oor perhaps had God of protection – the Aiyyanars and Ellai Ammans… and perhaps this temple existed when Triplicane was a small colony… Incidentally there is another Pillaiyar temple by the name ‘Sundara Murthy Vinayagar’ that gives the name to this street.

There is an arch on the Triplicane High Road on the small lane leading to this temple and you can come through Sundara Murthi Vinayakar Kovil Street.

This is the famous temple of ‘Arulmigu Ellai Amman’…. having an entrance facing east and a dwajasthambam infront of the Society.  As you enter there is Anjaneyar on the wall and Navagrahas installed by the side.  Inside you have Sakthi Vinayagar and Murugar with Valli and Deivanai. 

The presiding deity is of course Sri Ellai Amman to whom abishekams are performed regularly.  There is also the idol of dancing Nataraja.

Ekkadu Thiruvural Uthsavam ~ would Perumal stop to honour idol smuggler

Of the various Uthasvams at Thiruvallikkeni Sri Parthasarathi Swami temple, one interesting Uthsavam is Ekkattuthangal Thiruvural Uthsavam.  This is not entirely religious – unconnected with Azhwar or Acharyars – but a Uthsavam happening for many decades, when Sri Parthasarathy Swami leaves Temple early morning, travels through Mylapore, TNagar, Mahalingapuram to Ekkadu – visits His place on the banks of Adyaru, has Thirumanjanam and returns after halt at Saidapet.

During this purappadu on a pallakku, Perumal stops (mandagappadi) at various places that include temples at Mylapore, Saidapet and at private places, including School and a hotel. Here is something that has appeared in Dinamalar of date questioning the wisdom of stopping to provide maryathai to a person engaged in illegal trade of idols.

ஈக்காட்டுத்தாங்கல் திருவூறல் உற்சவத்தின்போது, சிலை கடத்தல்காரன் தீனதயாளனுக்கு, கோவில் மரியாதை செய்ய, அறநிலையத்துறையைச் சேர்ந்த சிலர் முயற்சிப்பது, சேவார்த்திகளிடம் கடும் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்திஉள்ளது. 

திருவல்லிக்கேணி பார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள் கோவிலில், ஆண்டுதோறும், திருவூறல் உற்சவம் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. இதன்படி, உற்சவர் பார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள், ஸ்ரீதேவி, பூதேவி நாச்சியாருடன் திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் இருந்து புறப்பட்டு, மயிலாப்பூரில் உள்ள பேயாழ்வார், பார்த்தசாரதி சுவாமியை எதிர்கொண்டு, மங்களாசாசனம் செய்வார். இதையடுத்து, தேனாம்பேட்டை, தி.நகர், மாம்பலம் வழியாக, ஈக்காட்டுத்தாங்கலை அடைந்து, அங்குள்ள தன் சொத்துகளை பார்வையிட்டு, ஆற்றங்கரையில் திருவூறல் உற்சவம் நடத்தப்படும். பின், அங்கிருந்து பறப்பட்டு கோவில் திரும்புவார்.

உற்சவர் செல்லும் வழியில் முக்கியஸ்தர், சேவார்த்திகள் சிலருக்கு, மண்டகப்படி எனும் கோவில் மரியாதை செய்வது வழக்கம். இதில், பிரபல சிலை கடத்தல்காரன் தீனதயாளனும் ஒருவர். கடந்த ஆண்டு, சிலை கடத்தல் வழக்கில் சிக்கி, அவன் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டான். இந்தாண்டு, திருவூறல் உற்சவம், நாளை நடக்கிறது. அன்று, தீனதயாளனுக்கு மண்டகப்படி செய்யக் கூடாது என, கோவில் நிர்வாகத்தில் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. சமீபத்தில், இது குறித்த பேச்சு நடந்தது. இதில், 'தீனதயாளனுக்கு மண்டகப்படி செய்ய வேண்டும்' என, சிலர் குரல் கொடுத்தனர்.; இது, சேவார்த்திகளிடம் கடும் அதிர்ச்சியையும், வெறுப்பையும் ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. 

இது குறித்து, சேவார்த்திகள் தரப்பில் கூறியதாவது: பாரம்பரிய கோவில்களில் உள்ள சிலைகளை கடத்திய வழக்கில், கைது செய்யப்பட்ட தீனதயாளன் வீட்டின் முன், உற்சவர் ஊர்வலம் நின்று, மரியாதை செய்ய வேண்டும் என, கோவில் நிர்வாகி ஒருவரும், சிலரும் அடம்பிடித்து வருகின்றனர். இந்த மண்டகப்படியால், அவர்களுக்கு கணிசமான தொகை கிடைக்கும் என்பதால், இதில் ஆர்வம் காட்டுகின்றனர். ஏற்கனவே, மண்டகப்படியால் பெரும் தொகை கிடைப்பதால், சுவாமி ஊர்வலம், பல நுாற்றாண்டுகளாக சென்ற வழித்தடம் மாற்றப்பட்டு, மகாலிங்கபுரம் சென்று சுற்றி வருகிறது. பணத்திற்காக, சுவாமி புறப்பாடு ஊர்வலத்தை, தங்கள் இழுப்பிற்கு மாற்றிக் கொள்கின்றனர். இது, வன்மையாக கண்டிக்கத்தக்கது. சிலை கடத்தல்காரன் வீட்டின் முன், சுவாமி ஊர்வலம் நிறுத்தி, மரியாதை அளித்தால், அறநிலையத்துறையை எதிர்த்து போராட முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம். இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

Celebrating Vinayaka Chathurthi 2016 : கைத்தல நிறைகனி ...

Today 5^th Sept is Ganesh Chaturthi…. Vinayaka Chathurthi is  celebrated grandly in Tamilnadu as also in the rest of the country with gay and gaiety.  Lord Ganesha is widely worshipped as the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travel.

In mid 1980s, installing huge Vinayaka idols in many public places, religious worship for ten days and visarjanam were being conducted in a big manner ~ after a couple of incidents, the then rulers banned passing of procession in the Triplicane High Road citing law and order issues and now a days, the procession has shrunk ……. Those days, there would be hundreds of Vinayakas big and small installed at each street and the idol procession would unwind through narrow lanes of triplicane, with enthusiastic crowds singing bajans and songs extolling Ganesha.

Now there is so much of pressure on Hindu devotees – they are made to run for obtaining permission as Police, Corporaation and every authority does their mite to dampen the spirit.

Here are some morning photos at Triplicane, traders getting ready waiting for the devotees to come and take home Vinayaka made of clay ~ and this Vyasa Baratha Vinayaka was a great attraction in the streets of Triplicane yesterday evening.

கரதலத்தில் நிறைந்துள்ள பழம், அப்பம், அவல், பொரி (இவைகளை) வாரி உண்ணும் யானை முகக் கடவுளின் திருவடிகளை விரும்பி,

... மத்தளம் போன்ற பெருவயிறு உடையவனும், உத்தமியாகிய பார்வதியின் மகனும் ஆகிய கணபதியைத் தேன் துளிர்க்கும் புது மலர்களைக் கொண்டு நான் வணங்குவேன்.
