paid darshans to stop in Temples .... !!!!!

Devotees  flock to Temples on important days – be it days of religious significance or days of value for the individuals… We believe in God and when we place ourselves before the God with full faith ~ sure all our difficulties will vanish – just as the mist vanishes in Sun…………

In Tamilnadu Temples are managed by HR&CE – who run temples as ‘money spinning centers’…. They charge the devotees for everything .. for having darshan, devotees are made to wait in long queues for long hours – then they introduce ‘paid darshan’….. in some temples during certain hours – devotees cannot have darshan without paying for it…. Everywhere you have differential Queues – Sarva darshan; special darshan; VIP darshan – many more names… those who pay have quick darshan……… is this right ?  - certainly not. 

Most importantly so begotten from devotees do not go to the Temple or to the Lord – but to Govt coffers, only to be spilled for some Govt schemes which are in no way connected with Hinduism.

Temples have huge property – these are not being administered well – you see boards showing defaulters… who allowed them for so many years.  There are encroachments in temple lands and tenants are not paying the lowly priced rents too.  At times, Govt allots temple lands to other schemes ~ none of these they dare not with any religious places !!!

Very happy to read this report in Dinamalar stating that HR&CE has given oral orders to temples to abolish special darshan fees.  When or whether that will be implemented remains to be seen !!!!

தமிழகம் முழுவதும், 38 ஆயிரம் கோவில்கள், அறநிலையத் துறை நிர்வாகத்தில் உள்ளன. இதில், 4,000 கோவில்கள் அதிக வருவாய் உடையவை. இவற்றில், 234 கோவில்களில், சுவாமி தரிசனம் செய்ய பக்தர்களிடம் இருந்து, 5 ரூபாய் முதல் 250 ரூபாய் வரை, சிறப்பு நுழைவு கட்டணம் வசூலிக்கப்படுகிறது.

2013ம் ஆண்டு...: 

சுவாமியை தரிசனம் செய்ய கட்டணம் வசூலிப்பது, பக்தர்களிடம் அதிருப்தியை ஏற்படுத்துவதாக உள்ளது. கடந்த, 2013ல், பக்தர் ஒருவர் தொடர்ந்த வழக்கில், உயர் நீதிமன்ற மதுரை கிளை பிறப்பித்த உத்தரவு காரணமாக, 142 கோவில்களில் சிறப்பு கட்டண தரிசன முறையை அறநிலையத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் தற்காலிகமாக ரத்து செய்தனர்.இதற்கான உத்தரவு எழுத்துவடிவில் இல்லாததால், அடுத்த சில மாதங்களிலேயே, கட்டண வசூல் மீண்டும் துவங்கியது. இந்நிலையில், சிறப்பு கட்டண தரிசனத்தை ரத்து செய்ய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படுவதாக, தகவல் வெளியாகி உள்ளது.

அரசு ஏற்பு:  இதுகுறித்து, அறநிலையத் துறை அதிகாரி ஒருவர் கூறியதாவது: ஸ்ரீரங்கம், மதுரை, பழநி உள்ளிட்ட, 234 கோவில்களில் சிறப்பு கட்டண தரிசன முறையை ரத்து செய்வது குறித்து, தமிழக அரசுக்கு பரிந்துரை செய்யப்பட்டுஉள்ளது. இதை தமிழக அரசும் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டுள்ளது. விரைவில், இதற்கான அரசாணை பிறப்பிக்கப்படும். இது ரத்தானால் கோவில்களில், அனைவருக்கும் ஒரே தரிசன முறை அமலுக்கு வரும். இதனால், கட்டண அடிப்படையில் பக்தர்களை பிரித்து பார்ப்பது முடிவுக்கு வரும்.இவ்வாறு, அவர் கூறினார்.

Cantonment land encroached by Church and ordered to be evicted by Madras High Court

Often it is projected that there are roadside temples ! ~ here is something on a Church coming up on a site belonging to Cantonment Board – Madras High Court ordering eviction and yet there are protests. You can read for yourself the way in which it got reported in Times of India; Dinakaran and Dinamalar….

CHENNAI: Madras high court has directed Chennai city commissioner of police to render assistance to the Cantonment Board in retrieving an encroached piece of land, which had been given to the civil supplies authorities to construct a ration shop for the locality in St Thomas Mount.

The first bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M M Sundresh, passing orders on a PIL filed by N Irudayaraj of St Thomas Mount on Wednesday, said: "Chief executive officer of the cantonment board has been reportedly addressing communication to police authorities to provide police protection to remove the encroachment, and build a ration shop on the lands belonging to the government. There is apparently no response from police authorities. We thus direct the commissioner of police to render assistance to cantonment board as and when sought, with advance notice of seven days."

According to A Sirajudeen, counsel for Irudayaraj, the ration shop was meant to cater to the needs of more than 500 families in Sevenwells Street area in St Thomas Mount. As the shop had to be shifted, civil supplies authorities approached Cantonment Board to allot a suitable place to locate the shop. It later identified a one-ground site in the vicinity, and addressed a letter to the Board to build a structure and let it out to the civil supplies department.

In June 2013, however, one Bakya Regis of St Patrick Church erected a flag pole in the middle of the plot, and attached an idol too. Despite claims and representations from Cantonment Board stating that the land belonged to it, the encroacher did not remove the pole, Sirajudeen said. In November 2013, authorities started digging work after the squatter removed the pole. A while later, he again occupied the plot.

The present PIL was filed after unsuccessful attempts to vacate the encroacher, and it wanted the court to direct the Cantonment Board to remove all encroachments made by Bakya Regis, and hand over the plot to civil supplies authorities for construction of a ration shop building.

சென்னை: சென்னை புனித தாமஸ் மலைப்பகுதியில் உள்ள அந்தோணியார் கோயில் இடிக்கப்பட்டது. கண்டோன்மென்ட் பகுதியில் கட்டப்பட்ட 120 ஆண்டு பழமையான கோயில் இடிக்கப்பட்டது. நீதிமன்ற உத்தரவுப்படி அனுமதியின்றி கட்டப்பட்ட கோயில் இடிக்கப்பட்டது என அதிகாரிகள் தகவல் அளித்துள்ளனர். அந்தோணியார் கோயிலை இடிக்க வந்த அதிகாரிகளுடன் மக்கள வாக்குவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். கொடிமரம் உள்ளிட்டவற்றை அப்புறப்படுத்திய அதிகாரிகளுடன் மக்கள் கடும் வாக்குவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

Sri Parthasarathi Kovil admin again - removal of old stones and laying granites !!!

This article about Sri Parthasarathi Swami temple has appeared in Dinamalar Chennai edition of date – 26^th Apr 2015.

Unlikely to have any impact on HR&CE or its highhanded officials – incidentally – neither the big board in front of the temple nor the temple almanac of the year 2015-16, released recently make any mention of the “Balalayam” and the works going on inside the Temple.  Are they not official ??

சமத்துவ மக்கள் கட்சி தலைவர் சரத்குமார் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் கூறி இருப்பதாவது:–

திராவிடர் கழகம் சார்பில் கடந்த வாரம் இயற்றப்பட்ட தீர்மானங்களுள் ஒன்றாக, வரும் ஏப்ரல் 14–ம் தேதியன்று தாலி அகற்றும் நிகழ்ச்சியையும், மாட்டுக்கறி விருந்தையும் நடத்துவது என்று விபரீதமான தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றி இருக்கிறார்கள். இதை தொடர்ந்து ஊடகங்களிலும், இவை குறித்த தகவல்களை தொடர்ந்து தெரிவித்து வருகிறார்கள்.

பகுத்தறிவு என்ற பெயரில் இவர்கள் பரப்பிவரும் தகவல்கள், நடத்திவரும் நாடகங்கள் நாங்களும் இருக்கிறோம் என்று காட்டிக்கொள்வதற்காக மட்டுமே தவிர, அவை வெறும் கேலிக்கூத்துகள் தான் என்றே மக்கள் மனதில் சித்தரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலத்தில் மாட்டிறைச்சிக்கு தடை விதித்து இருக்கிறார்கள், தமிழகத்தில் அத்தகைய தடை விதிக்கப்படவில்லை. எனவே அதை கண்டித்து தமிழகத்தில் மாட்டுக்கறி விருந்து நடத்துவது இவர்கள் மாட்டுக்கறி உண்பதற்கும், விளம்பரத்திற்கும் ஒரு காரணமே தவிர வேறில்லை. எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவிப்பவர்கள் மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலத்திற்கு சென்று கறி விருந்து நடத்தலாமே! இந்தியா முழுவதும் மான் கறிக்கு கூடத்தான் தடை இருக்கிறது. இவர்கள் மான்கறி விருந்து சாப்பிட முன்வரலாமே!

இது ஒருபுறமிருக்க, திருமணத்தின் போது பெண்கள் அணியும் தாலி பற்றிய சர்ச்சையை உருவாக்கி, “தாலி அகற்றும் நிகழ்ச்சி” என்று மற்றொரு வேதனையான நிகழ்ச்சியை அரங்கேற்றம் செய்ய இருக்கிறார்கள்.  உலகெங்கிலும் திருமண நிகழ்வுகளின் போது மணமக்களுக்கு திருமண நினைவுச்சின்னம் அணிவிக்கப்பட்டு வருவது மரபு. கிருஸ்தவர்களுக்கு மோதிரம், தாலி, இஸ்லாமியருக்கு கருகமணி, இந்துக்களுக்கு தாலி என்பன போன்ற சின்னங்கள் பெண்களுக்கு அணிவிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. தாலியோ, கருகமணியோ, மோதிரமோ ஒரு அடையாளம் தானே தவிர, ஒரு பெண்ணை அடிமைப்படுத்துவதற்காக ஆண்கள் உபயோகப்படுத்தும் அஸ்திரம் என்பது வேண்டுமென்றே பரப்பப்படும் பசப்புரைகள்.

எனவே, தாலிக்கு எதிராக திராவிடர் கழகம் சொல்லிவரும் கருத்துக்களும், மேற்கொண்டுவரும் நிகழ்வுகளும் காலம் காலமாக மதித்துவரும் தமிழக பெண்களின் உணர்வுகளுக்கும், நம்பிக்கைகளுக்கும் களங்கம் கற்பிப்பதாகும். எனவே, தாலியறுக்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி என்பது இந்துக்களுக்கு எதிரானது மட்டுமல்ல, கிருஸ்தவ, இஸ்லாமிய இனத்தவர்க்கும் எதிரானதும் கூட என்றே கருதலாம். இத்தகைய நிகழ்வுக்கு இந்து மதம் சார்ந்த பெண்கள் அல்லாது இஸ்லாமிய, கிருஸ்தவ பெண்களும் எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவிப்பார்கள் என்பது உறுதி.

சங்க இலக்கியங்களில் தாலி பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் இல்லை. எனவே, தாலி என்பது தமிழர் கலாச்சாரம் சார்ந்தது இல்லை என்ற வாதம் ஏற்புடையது அல்ல. சங்க இலக்கியங்களில் பகுத்தறிவு என்னும் கடவுள் எதிர்ப்பு என்பதும் கூட இல்லைதான். நீங்கள் கடவுள் எதிர்ப்பு என்பதை வைத்து அமைப்பு நடத்தவில்லையா? சங்கஇலக்கியத்தில் கம்ப்யூட்டர் கிடையாது, கார் கிடையாது, விமானம் கிடையாது என்பதற்காக அவற்றையெல்லாம் தற்போது உபயோகப்படுத்தாமல் இருக்கச்சொல்கிறீர்களா?

தாலி கட்டுவதும், அதை புனிதமாக கருதுவதும் காலங்காலமாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட ஒன்று. எனவே, தாலியை பற்றி அவதூறு பரப்புவது தமிழினத் தாய்க்குலத்தை திராவிடர் கழகம் இழிவுபடுத்தும் செயல் என்ற வகையில் கண்டிக்கத்தக்கது. தமிழக அரசு ”தாலிக்குத் தங்கம்” என்று ஏழைப்பெண்களுக்கு நலத்திட்ட உதவிகள் வழங்கி வருகிறது. இத்திட்டம் தவறு, கூடாது என்று திராவிடர் கழகம் போராடத்தயாரா?

வாழ்க்கை முறையில் பல்வேறு சம்பிரதாயங்கள் பிரிக்க முடியாத சடங்குகளாக மாறிவிடுவது உண்மை. அந்த வகையில் தாலியும் அது சார்ந்த புனிதமும், நம்பிக்கையும் தமிழர் வாழ்வோடு ஒன்றிவிட்ட ஒன்றுதான்.  அதை கேலி பொருளாக்கி திராவிடர் கழகம் தமிழக தாய்மார்களின் மனங்களை, தமிழர்களின் இதயங்களை புண்படுத்துவதை நிறுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். இல்லையேல் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் தாய்க்குலத்தை ஒன்று திரட்டி திராவிடர் கழகத்திற்கெதிரான போராட்டத்தை சமத்துவ மக்கள் கட்சி நடத்தும் என்பதை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறேன். மக்களுக்கு தேவையான பயனுள்ள போராட்டங்களில் திராவிடர் கழகத்தின் தலைவரும், அனுபவமிக்க தலைவருமான கி.வீரமணி தனது கவனத்தையும் முயற்சிகளையும் திசை திருப்பிட வேண்டுகிறேன்.

Shri Narendra Modji visits Keerimalai Naguleswaram Temple at Jaffna

Keerimalai Naguleswaram temple, historically known also as the Thirutambaleswaram Kovil of Keerimalai, is a famous Hindu temple in Keerimalai, located north of Jaffna, Northern Province, Sri Lanka near the ancient port of Kankesanthurai. One of the oldest shrines of the region, it is the northernmost shrine on the island of the five ancient Iswarams of Lord Siva, venerated by Hindus across the world from classical antiquity.

Its adjacent water tank, the Keerimalai Springs, is believed to have curative properties. Keerimalai is 50 feet above sea level, and situated west of Palaly. The fresh water comes from an underground spring source. Hindus flock in large numbers on “Aadi Amaavaasai” day which falls during the Tamil month of “Aadi”, to carry out rituals for their forefathers and take a divine dip in the natural springs.

Today Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji made a historic visit to Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka, a region once ravaged by strife.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called for equitable development and respect for all citizens in the island nation.

Shri Modiji visited the temple and has posted photos on his site.  Winding up his public engagements on his two-day trip to the island with a hugely-symbolic visit to Tamil-dominated Jaffna, the first by an Indian Prime Minister, he said he was glad that it "is one to wipe tears from the eyes of those who suffered".

The Prime Minister, who is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the region, handed over 27,000 new homes to Tamils who became homeless during the civil war. The houses were built with Indian assistance as part of India's efforts to help in the reconciliation process.
